No pie-eating contest?

The Fair.
Eagerly anticipated from January on by....
me!
And the kids of course.
I've also managed to get Nu on the Fair bandwagon.

Highlights of this year were:
spending too much money on the kiddie carnival but deciding it was worth it to see the FUN that was had,

watching horses get their hair braided and prance about (I felt like such a city-girl, knowing nothing about 4-H!),

the proud feeling of being Canadian in a foreign country,

admiring all the cute baby farm animals,

watching the kids taking it all in,

eating a delicious ice cream sundae
topped with fresh raspberries while listening to a very amateur group of middle-aged ukulele players,

enjoying the prize-winning dahlias with my flower-loving older children,

having to ask if the prize-winning jam was on sale (which it wasn't),

having a happy baby sitting in the stroller contentedly,

being de-selected to assist in a magic trick because I had 'like 9 kids' with me,

eating 2$ hotdogs for dinner with a view from the back of the stage for a bellydancing performance (wish I could get my money back on that one),

seeing all the amazing quilts, toy collections and lego scenarios that kids had entered in the fair,

learning that Lesina is an AWESOME cow-milker (hypothetically) in a milking contest,

getting free 'special' water,

and taking home two giant blow-up swords (for my girly-girls!) and one gun that really shoots...rubber bullets.

Nope, there was no pie-eating contest. But we had a hoot anyways.

That was fun indeed.
The kids are very happy as shown on the photos.
