away in a garden...

a fragrant, lucious garden,

with the T-Rex,

and with my dear Mom.

We share a love for plants, and all their combinations of color, shape and scent...undoubtedly inherited through our genes from the Netherlands.

We stood in awe of the giant kale and ornamental banana tree...astonished that we Canadians would be so fortunate to live in our beautiful fertile valley where we grow these things for decoration, rather than consumption or necessity. Strange thing, that. The kale alone could feed a small family for several days!

We basked in the streams of light glowing on the heaven-like setting at the waterfall and stream.
There was a little bench hidden around the corner that would be a perfect spot to stay put for hours, alone, with a book...but alas, we had the little one with us and we did not have hours and hours!

In the spirit of the growing advertisement...did you know there is a community garden in Abbotsford where you can grow a plot of veggies (or whatever) in full sun for about 15 dollars for the year? Check it out...and grow a row!

Here sits...a budding botanist?
