wow. I think everyone I have ever known is now on 'facebook'. I finally bit the bullet and joined (after swearing I never would after a bad experience on Bebo) - it's a great way to reconnect with people, but I admit that I tire of it easily, and it can suck time away way too fast. Blogging is more my style. Nevertheless, I am now on facebook too. Sigh.
This morning we went on a lovely long walk to the store to get milk. This is what happens to me when I go shopping without a shopping list. ALWAYS forget something. So in the interest of saving the planet and all that stuff, we spent 1.5 hours walking to the store this morning. Well, actually, I just like walking places better than driving if I can, and Nu has the vehicle which didn't leave us much choice! Lesina was a great help, pushing her own little buggy around the store, while bumping into very few people. Today marks the first day I've ever bought Oreos for the kids...no, my children are not deprived! Usually I just prefer baking cookies myself. But they were on sale, what can I say?
Yesterday was a momentous day indeed. It was wonderful for a short time, because Nu came home from his men's retreat in the morning. Then the ladybird and I went to church and I worked in her room with all the fun little tots. I intercepted one escapee, who, once I caught him, pointed, yelled "BIRTHDAY PARTY!" really loudly, and then tried to bolt again! Tricky tricky. And I sadly watched one poor dad's attempt to leave his son in the room, when every time his child was busily playing with something, he would make a point to stop him and say, "Daddy's going to go now, I'll see you later," which would of course cause his son to scream and cry and cling... After 4 attempts, he gave up. Now, there's an obvious parenting lesson there that I could have told him about, but really, everyone just has to learn these things for themselves I think. You have to SNEAK OUT so that your child doesn't see you go...they may whine once they notice, but they usually calm down very quickly!!
When we got home, we found that there was a strange, cranky child visiting our home. He looked so much like the little Moose, yet didn't really act like him at all...
There was much whining, hair-pulling, crying, yelling, pointing, angry mumbling and desperate praying. There was nothing that he wanted, yet he felt sure he wanted something...he was not happy in any situation except the stroller seat. And so, 2 long walks later, my inconsolable child threw a 20 minute screaming fit which nearly burst my eardrums, and then proceeded to be his happy self for the hour or two before bed-time. Then wouldn't sleep in his bed, but fell asleep on our bed after talking to himself for half an hour and making coyote noises. This strange and maddening child seems to have left the building for the time being...today he's as normal and happy as ever so far. Whatever it was, I just hope it never ever comes back!!!

Very Elijah like. He was definitely prophesying.
Either that or indigestion.
