M.I.A.

I have been a little neglectful of blogging lately, for which I do apologize. Today is the first day of peace and quiet in a week, so I will dutifully fill everyone in on what they missed...

Friday-Root canal. It actually wasn't that bad. Very little pain at all, and 3 teeth fixed. The cost was the most painful thing...but Mom and Dad have decided to subsidize our lack of dental insurance for which we are extremely eternally grateful!! I did have a few critical moments when I first arrived and was awaiting the freezing...the old "fight or flight" syndrome kicked in and I almost bolted out of my chair running for the nearest exit...but I restrained this urge thankfully.

Saturday-Wedding. Kate and Nate got married at Minter Gardens and it was oh, so beautiful. If I could do it over again, I would do it there! Gorgeous. Pastor Dean officiated, and then we enjoyed he and Janine's company at the reception as we entertained ourselves with the KinderSurprise toys that were in our favors. Good times.

Sunday-PNE. Toddler rides, Peter the Great, pig races, llamas and sheep, butter chicken and roti, fish and chips, superdogs, a parade, lots of fun and sun and two very tired parents!! The best and the worst of it was when we reached the time for my DH to win something for LL (as he always must). After about 40 minutes, he demonstrated his magnificent strength and knocked down a bunch of wooden pillars with a baseball! Woohoo! I've married a very talented and very determined man. So he won a giant pink frog for the little princess. And then tried to win the elusive motorized scooter...2 years in a row, no luck. Maybe next time.

Monday-White Rock BBQ. It was a farewell for our friend Iosefo who is going home to Samoa. It was fun, but tiring, and our hostess spent most of it at the walk-in clinic with her son, who bumped his head. LL had a fantastic time playing hide and seek and eating a truckload of watermelon. And ML enjoyed romping around the clubhouse with his newfound mode of transport.....he started crawling forward with great speed on Friday, and let me tell you, nothing is the same around here anymore!! (the least of it is that it has made the biting problem more serious..now he can reach his victim wherever they may be!)

The last few days I've been preparing for the company that we had last night. Isn't it funny how long it takes to prepare...or maybe it's just me. There's the house-cleaning. And the grocery shopping. And the making of the dessert. And the making of the meal. And then a few hours later it's all over, and the house is back to the disaster it was before. But it's all worthwhile for some good conversation and good friends.
Now I'm looking forward to a few quieter days, and getting into my book "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. It's really good...I would highly recommend it. It looks into the reliability of the gospels in the New Testament, and the historical evidence that corrolates them as well as lots of other things that Mr. Strobel investigated in his journey from being an atheist to becoming a Christian. Very interesting.
But before I get to that, 3 of my lovely lady cousins are coming to visit in about an hour, to help me eat leftover bruschetta from last night and fill me in on all their adventures. Wish you could come too DS (0:

Glad you are back in blog land. Sorry cousin #3 was detained...I needed a porch painting assistant today.

The Case for Christ...lots of well thought out evidence in there. Good stuff.

Now I'll see if this lets me comment. The last few times I have been rejected by blogger. It hurts.

...yep, it rejected me...but I am onto this rejection scheme...this time I copied my reply...I won't give up that easily...mwahahahaha...

Maybe if I go anonymous? Or as another user. Here goes...
