beautiful days...

Well, some time ago it rained and it poured...you know how they say when it rains, it pours...and I just wanted to let everyone know that the skies have cleared, and there's been some really beautiful days lately, which one appreciates all the more after it rains and pours.
Mom and Dad are safely home from their escapades, with several hundred amazing pictures to prove it. They were over for dinner last night and I did what we all know you should never never attempt: I made something that I'd never made before. And it flopped. Of course! It was an attempt to make chocolate mousse, which failed because of a small mistake on my part (I bought the wrong type of cream) and our lovely guests graciously offered to sip the sad watery mousse like a milkshake out of their cups with straws! It wasn't quite the same, but the caffeine rush was still all there (0:
Today Nu and I got to go out on a long-needed date thanks to the babysitting grandparents, and we had an exciting plan which was scrapped for "errands." Or so I thought! Nu surprised me by taking me out to White Spot! Yes, I know, it's kind of pathetic that I'm so easy to please, but I love White Spot and we never go because Nu doesn't like their meat portion sizes! Haha. So I was really quite delighted with that surprise and then we went walking through the automall, for fun, and discovered how unlikely it is that we will ever be able to afford anything sold or leased there...and then we indulged my plantaholic tendencies and walked through a nursery or two....some of you are thinking that we've gotten old and boring but really, it was just a nice, calm, fun time just the two of us, which is what we've been lacking for too long.
I've also had some great answers to prayer lately, one of which is my little tiger's eating and sleeping. With the 'going-back-to-work' date soon approaching, I was getting a little concerned that he was still nursing after lunch and waking at 3 am....at 10 months nonetheless! It has now been one full week of sleeping through the night, most nights without any help, and all nights without any nursing....and about 10 days since he's been cut down to early morning and bedtime feeds only!!! This is such a huge blessing, that I totally didn't expect to happen this fast. I guess training works really well if it's done at the right time for the child.

Date nights, glorious aren't they? glad you could be indulged! I love doing "errands" on dates sometimes...it is fun to walk through stores at adult pace, holding each others hands. :)
